Engr Dr Darlington Agholor is the pioneer Dean of the School of Science and Technology (SST), Pan-Atlantic University. He is a COREN registered Mechanical Engineer (R62435) and holds an M.Sc. degree in Industrial Engineering. Both were obtained from the University of Ibadan. His Doctor of Philosophy degree in Applied Engineering was obtained in 2015 from the Industrial Engineering Department of Tecnun School of Engineering, University of Navarra, Spain. His work was about developing a methodology for helping engineering students acquire relevant personal and professional competencies within the context of mentoring relationships.
He joined the Pan-Atlantic University in 2016 teaching Business, Management, and Leadership at the School of Management and Social Sciences (SMSS) and was later appointed to their Management Board.
He became the Dean of the School of Science and Technology in 2020 after coordinating the startup processes of curriculum design, building design and construction, faculty recruitment, and equipment purchases for the school.
Before joining the Pan-Atlantic University, he worked as a shift manager in a manufacturing company and later as Co-founder and Director of a social enterprise: the Institute for Industrial Technology (IIT), which has become a reference institution in the development of middle-level technical manpower for the industrial sector of the economy. He continues to serve as a member of the IIT governing council.
Dr Agholor now teaches Engineer in Society, Professional Ethics for Engineers, Engineering Management, Engineering Economics, and Workshop practices at the School of Science and Technology (SST), Pan-Atlantic University (PAU).
He is a member of the Senate and the University Management Council of Pan-Atlantic University. He is also a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers. He was also recently appointed a member of the board of trustees of Ikota Educational Foundation. He sits on the boards of two start-up companies.
His research interests include mentoring, competency development, engineering management, and engineering education.
He enjoys taking long walks, listening to classical music, and current affairs.
